With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joe Luis Tovar (Hobbs, New Mexico), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 9, 2025 at the age of 67. He was predeceased by: his parents, Juanita Tovar and Bonifacio Tovar Sr.; and his brothers, Bonifacio Tovar Jr. and Danny Tovar. He is survived by: his significant other Rosemary Tovar; his children, Lori Beth Boatenhamer (Steven "Boatie" Boatenhamer) of Big Spring, TX., Alex Tovar (Adrianna Torres) of Hobbs, NM. and Jose Tovar Jr. of Hobbs, NM; his grandchildren, Tamara Ticson Noah Rodriguez (Nicolas Ticson), Izyan Tovar, Angel Huerta, Esalia Tovar, Erza Tovar, Isaiah Tovar, Valeria Nevarez and Joselyn Nevarez; and his great grandchildren, Aiden Rodriguez and Andromeda Ticson.
Viewing was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chapel of Hope (3321 N Dal Paso St, Hobbs, NM 88240). A rosary was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 9:00 AM and at 3:30 PM.
