It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Norma Jean Gilbert (Hobbs, New Mexico), who passed away on November 18, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Norma departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Norma. Though Norma may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Williston and Mary Williston (Segotta); her husband Randy Gilbert; and her sister Dixie Auker (Williston). She is survived by: her stepdaughter Kerri Thurston (Gilbert) of Los Alamos, NM; her children, Mindy Treybal (Gilbert) of Fairbanks, AK and Kirk Gilbert of Hobbs, NM.; and her grandchildren, Luke of Fairbanks, AK., Emma of Fairbanks, AK. and Mary Treybal of Fairbanks, AK.. She is also survived by her loving children and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 27th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Methodist Church (200 E Snyder St, Hobbs, NM 88240).
