It is with sadness that the passing of Agustin Benavidez Lara of Las Cruces, New Mexico is shared. Agustin, born on August 13, 1952, passed away on October 14, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Agustin will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Agustin by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Agustin is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Agustin’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Herminda Benavidez and Agustin Lara Lopez. He is survived by: his children, Robert Lara (Naddy), Erik Lara (Chayenne), Marisel Singh (Charles), Erika Lara and Suzette Ramirez of Las Cruces; the mother of his children Belem Avila of Lara; and his siblings, Robert, Armando Lara and Alicia Barten. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Baca's Funeral Chapel (300 E Boutz Rd, Las Cruces, NM 88005). A rosary will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
