He is survived by : his wife Edelmira; his children, Efrain Acosta (Norma Chavez) of Mesquite, NM, Ascencion Acosta Jr. (Margaret) of Phoenix, AZ, Natalia Gordon (Steven) of Las Cruces, NM, Martha Alvarez (Edward) of Silver City, NM and Sandra Acosta of Las Cruces, NM.; his grandchildren, Vanessa Acosta, Natalie Bencomo, Eduardo Alvarez, Stacey and Tabitha Gordon; and his great grandchildren, Olivia, Mila Bencomo, Aranelie and Aleia Alvarez.
