He was predeceased by: his parents, Baldomero Garcia and Eduvijes Garcia; and his son-in-law Jacob Portillo. He is survived by: his wife Maria; and his children, Baldomero Garcia (Maria), Marco Antonio Garcia (Margarita Torres), Apolinar Garcia (Zulma), Dagoberto Garcia (Francelia) of Las Cruces, Rene Garcia (Maritza) of Ohio and Matilde Portillo of Las Cruces. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 27th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Baca's Funeral Chapel (300 E Boutz Rd, Las Cruces, NM 88005). A vigil service was held on Tuesday, January 27th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 28th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
