He was predeceased by : his parents, Elizabeth Celeste and C. Hudson Murrell; his sister Georgetta Chappell; his nephew Charles Laird; his son-in-law G. Douglas Byers; and his wife Kathy Boling Murrell.

He is survived by : his children, Anne Droegemueller Carson, Cindy Murrell (Dave Edwards), Sarah Murrell Arnold and David Murrell (Heather Kincaid); his grandchildren, Kristin Connor Kimmelman (David), Samantha Connor Steritz (Matthew), Jordan Edwards, Justin Arnold (Jenna), Katie Arnold Hill (Jay), Nathan Arnold (Lauren), Payton and Mak Kincaid; his brother-in-law Terry Chappell; and his cousins, Laura Loomiz Gonzales and Nell Loomis Pearce (Dave).

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 18th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Rio Grande Winery Clubhouse (5321 NM-28, Las Cruces, NM 88005).
