Contributions in his memory may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Las Cruces, in c/o the funeral home.

Age 77 of Las Cruces, NM and formerly of Kalamazoo and Vicksburg, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025, in Las Cruces. Dave was born in Plainwell, MI on March 8, 1948, the son of Peter and Janet (Kollen) Schreuder. He spent his childhood years in Kalamazoo and high school years in Vicksburg. He graduated from Vicksburg High School, Class of 1966. Dave received his Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA; a Master of Arts degree in History from Western Michigan University; and a Master of Divinity degree from Western Theological Seminary in Holland. Ordained a Minister of the Word and Sacraments in the Reformed Church in America (RCA) in 1981, he served pastorates at the First Congregational Church of Vermontville, MI, Twin Lakes Reformed Church in Kalamazoo, and at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA. He then became an Army chaplain at Ft. Hood, TX, an experience he treasured. Subsequently, he became Secretary for General Synod Operations for the RCA at its national office in New York City. Finally, he concluded his career as Executive Director for a special education program, Mobility Opportunities Via Education (MOVE) in Bakersfield, CA. The growth of this program required extensive travel throughout the USA, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. A very special highlight was meeting with Prince (now King) Charles at St. James Palace in London to describe the program. Dave retired in 2013 and moved to Las Cruces. He is survived by a very close friend who provided essential emotional support and care during his cancer illness, Jeanette Smith; daughter, Anne Janette (Daniel) Paolucci; grandchildren, Jane, Daniel and Loretta; brother, Dale (Elaine) Schreuder; three nephews; and countless friends.
