He was predeceased by: his parents, Opie and Minnie. He is survived by: his wife Martha C. Smith; his brothers, Vonnie "Pete" R. Smith and Merle "Pat" R. Smith; his cousin Cozell Lee Smith, Jr.; his children, Lani-Elaine (J. J. Castruita, III) and Mark; his sister-in-law Esther Smith; Townsend, Amelia Fuller and Hazel Tune. He is also survived by two loving grandchildren; two adorable great-grandchildren.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in John's name to their choice of the Saint Simeon's Foundation, National Scleroderma Foundation, or Alzheimer's Association.
