He was predeceased by: his parents, Reba Hembree and Charles Paynter; his former wife Judith Minces; his brother Bill; his stepdaughter Pam VanVekoven; and his stepgranddaughter Jennifer VanVekoven.
He is survived by: his wife Carol D. Paynter; his children, Rhonda Paynter and Charlie Paynter; his stepdaughters, Kim Norvell (Dave) and Debbie Sweem (Becky); his grandson Connor LeGault; his stepgrandchildren, Crystal Davis and Brooke Lockridge (Dustin); and his great grandchildren, Hank, Nolan and Natalie Lodridge.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Peace Lutheran Church (1701 Missouri Ave, Las Cruces, NM 88001).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to your local humane society in Ron's name.
