He is survived by: his wife Cathy Mares; his children, Geraldine Montoya (Bruce), Kimberly Mares (Ivan Vasquez) and Edward Mares (Priscilla); his grandchildren, Isaiah May, Destiny Rivas (Julian), Trinity Mares (Christian), Gabriella Mares, Faith Mares, Elijah May, Joshua Montoya and Caleb Mares; his stepgrandson Dominick Ortiz; his great grandchildren, Ezio and Jeremiah Rivas; his siblings, Jesse Mares (Patty), Johnny Mares, Dora Mares, Virginia Maes, Julia Lovato, Lucy Mares and Gloria Gallegos (Tommy); and his mother-in-law Annie Vigil. He is also survived by many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
