It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irinea Madrid Valdez (Las Vegas, New Mexico), who passed away on January 1, 2026, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Salomon Madrid; her brother Arthur Madrid; and her grandson Ashton Barreras. She is survived by: her mother Maria Amelia Madrid (Morales) of Las Vegas; her husband Samuel Valdez; her siblings, Joseph Louie Madrid (Debbie) of Amarillo, Abranita "Brine" Elizarraraz (Luis) of Northlake, Texas, Edubijen "Dubie" Aguirre (Amado Jr.) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Geneva Brown (Darrell) of Amarillo, Charles Madrid (Lucy) of Mora and Arnold Madrid (Jackqueline) of Dallas, Texas.; and her children, Amanda "Marie" Nino, Gabriel Nino (Cayton) of Amarillo, Tristen Valdez (Clarissa) of Mora, Tanya Barreras (Enrique) of Amarillo and Donald of Mora. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
