He was predeceased by: his parents, Tomas Montoya and Amalia Martinez; his wife Cesaria "Lala" Montoya; and his half-brother Ambrosio Montoya. He is survived by: his children, Edward Motoya, Catherine Fleming, Isabel Montoya, Julia Alvino (Gennaro) and Amalia Maki; his close friend Carmen Sena; and his half-brother Augustine Montoya.
