It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marquez Ayden Aurelius Espinoza (Las Vegas, New Mexico), who passed away on June 11, 2025, at the age of 18, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his great-grandparents, Jerry Mora and Louisa Herrera; his great-uncle George Lopez; and his cousins, Francisco Aragon, Michael Gurule, David James Marquez, Jessica Mora and Sallyann G Ulibarri.
He is survived by: his mother Vanessa Herrera; his sister Katelyn Baca; his grandparents, Carmen Mora and Albert "Baboon" Herrera Sr.; his great-grandparent Jenny Mora; his godfather Andrew Martinez (Meghan); his aunt Amy Gonzales; his cousins, Estevan, Emilio and Wolffe; his uncle Albert Herrera Jr. (Eva); his cousins, Albert III and Aaliyah; his father Paul Espinoza; his wife Mercedes; his sisters, Katalina Espinoza, Acelina Apodaca-Pekoc, Amiliah Espinoza and Esmeralda Apodaca-Pekoc; his grandparents, Deddie Rivera, Tony Luu, Paul Sr. Espinoza (Twyla), Sam Pekoc and Annissa Apodaca; his aunts and uncles, Evelyn Espinoza (Diego), Juanito Sr. Espinoza (Sabrina), Marrissa Apodaca-Pekoc, Pablo Apodaca-Pekoc (Taylor), Justin Espinoza, Maya Luu, Makayla Espinoza and Gia Rivera; his cousins, Jaylyn, Eddie, Julian Garcia, Juanito Jr., Kassidy, Katrina Espinoza, Amirra, Andres Gallegos and Nova Hidalgo; and also, Farrah, Carmen-Lucía, Moira and Paloma.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Our Lady of Sorrows Church (403 Valencia St, Las Vegas, NM 87701). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location.
