It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Aurora Somera of Los Lunas, New Mexico, who passed away on May 10, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her close friend Rose Peterson; her husband Agustin Somera; her parents, Juan Montez and Carmen Baca; her daughter Marie Chavez; her sons-in-law, Adolfo Chavez and Charlie Vigil; her granddaughter Angela Chavez; and her siblings, Juanita Alling, Tony DeAnda, Ricky DeAnda and Merdy DeAnda.
She is survived by: her daughters, Patsy Torres, Dora Armijo and Lorie Vigil; her sons-in-law, Daniel Torres and Michael Armijo; her grandchildren, Steven Somera, Crystal Cadotte, Felicia Torres, Joseph Chavez, Daniel Chavez, Amanda Chavez, Valerie Linton, Jordan Linton, Teresa Armijo, Marcela Knight, Nick Knight, Floreno Armijo, Bekah Greene, Andrew Vigil and Aviannah Avila; her great grandchildren, Adrian Somera, Anthony Bailey, Jazette Romero, Scarlett Chavez, Emma Chavez, Abigail Chavez, Logan Linton, Ashlyn Atkins, Alysia Atkins, Nicky Knight and Aysen Vigil; her great great grandchildren, Jaelynn Romero and Dezmond Somera; and her siblings, Sarah Pacheco, Adela Alderete, Eva Garcia, David DeAnda and George DeAnda. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM and on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 from 6:45 PM to 7:15 PM at the RFH Chapel. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the San Clemente Catholic Church (244 Luna Ave SE, Los Lunas, NM 87002). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the San Clemente Catholic Cemetery (244 Luna Ave NE, Los Lunas, NM 87031).
