He was predeceased by: his son Alferes Otero; his grandson Alferes Marquez; his parents, Alferes Otero and Frances Otero (Kika); and his siblings, Felix Otero, Janet Maes and Carmen Cherino.
He is survived by: his wife Lina Otero; his children, Chris Mendoza (Ricarda) and Jessica Marquez; his stepchildren, Antonio Garcia Jr. and Lori Ann Garcia-Ortega (Robert); his grandchildren, Chris Jr., Domonic (Caroline), Amber, Sapphira (Roy), Alajandro and Nicole Marquez; his great grandchildren, Madilyn, Maddox, Matias, Mela, Arianny, Elena and Roy Gabriel; his stepgrandchildren, Haley, Hannah, Tristen (Ani), Savannah and Alexis; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Josiah, Adalynn, Benjamin, Emma, Catalya and Giovanni; his siblings, Manuel Otero (Michelle) and Rita Baca; and his brother-in-law Harry Maes. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
