He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Blackwood and Drannan Blackwood (Ivy); his son Johnny Blackwood Jr.; and his sisters, Peggy Mabrey and Jimmie Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Terrie Blackwood; his children, Beau Blackwood, Trey Robinson, Jobeth Stoltz, Phyllisha Collins and Maimie Coffman; and his brother Bobby Blackwood. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
