With sadness, we share the passing of Samuel Elmo Fields (Lovington, New Mexico). Samuel, born on June 3, 1936, passed away on October 24, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Samuel for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Loyd Fields and Anna Lucille Fields; his sister Billie Fields Granath; and his son Ty Wheeler. He is survived by: his wife Johnette Fields; and his children, Eric Fields, Amy Fields Urueta, Stacie Marquez (Adam) and Trey Wheeler (Raelyn). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Christian Center Church (4024 W College Ln, Hobbs, NM 88242). A burial will be held on Thursday, November 12th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Lovington Cemetery (600 W Gum Ave, Lovington, NM 88260).
