We announce the death of Socorro Zubia Sandoval (Lovington, New Mexico), who passed away on October 22, 2026, at the age of 94. Socorro will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Santiago Zubia and Aurora Zubia; her husband Abelardo Sandoval; and her grandson Homer Saenz Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Noe Sandoval (Elsie), Carlos Sandoval, David Sandoval (Becky), Gilbert Sandoval (Stacy), Hilda Saenz, Elena Wyatt, Eva (Rene Quezada), Olivia (Andrew Flores), Susana (Joe Clark) and Omega (Lance Clayton). She is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren; forty-seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home (1106 N Main St, Lovington, NM 88260). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Third & Central Church of Christ (110 N 3rd St, Lovington, NM 88260).
