He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Sweeney and Irene Petty Sweeney; and his former wives, Cora Elaine Sweeney and Bonnie Fay Sweeney. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Shickell Sweeney; his siblings, Carl Kelley and Susie Kelley Smith; his children, Donald Sgambato, Christine Sweeney VanPool and Beth Sweeney Sanchez; and his grandchildren, Tasha Sgambato, Rene Sgambato, Caroline Feuerstein (Katie), Mason Sanchez, Kelsey Sanchez, Basil VanPool and Roy VanPool. He is also survived by many great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Ft. Stanton Cemetery.
