He was predeceased by: his parents, Pedro Ortega and Clarita Ortega. He is survived by: his children, Karen Melendrez (Richard), Jerry Ortega (Kelly), Deborah Gamboa (Gilbert) and Melissa Fontenot (Donnie); his grandchildren, Tyrel Ortega (Caitlin), Drake Hall, Zane Ortega (Denise), Stanley Hall, Trey Ortega, Hailey Diodene (Austin), Kaylynn Melendrez, Kimberly Melendrez, River Gamboa, Drew Ruddick and Luke Ruddick; his great grandchildren, Rhett, Desmond, Abigale, Elliot and Evie; and his wife Gloria A. Ortega. He is also survived by his four children, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the San Albino Catholic Church (2280 Calle Principal, Mesilla, NM 88046).
