He was predeceased by: his wife Bertha Gurule; his grandson Josiah Gurule; his great grandchild Zander Gurule; his parents, Esequiel Gurule and Josefina Gurule (Garcia); and his sisters, Helen Pino and Frances Gurule.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Self (Clayton), Denise Leaf, Michelle Padilla (Joseph), Stephanie Sanchez (Freddy) and Alex Gurule Jr.; and his brothers, Adolph Gurule, Alfred Gurule and Richard Gurule (Lefty).
