We announce the death of Johnnie Schlenker (Portales, New Mexico), who passed away on August 1, 2026, at the age of 87. Johnnie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Raymond and Hazel Maurine Schlenker; and his sister JoDay Cope. He is survived by: his wife Lynne Schlenker; his children, Darren Rayner, Ryan Rayner, Amanda Schlenker Stewart and Jennifer Schlenker-Bryce; his grandchildren, Ann-Marie Rayner, Dallas Rayner, Ava Stewart, Shane Stewart, Luke Stewart, True Stewart, Eden Bryce, Jack Bryce, Owen Bryce, Hudson Bryce and Kate Bryce; his great grandchildren, Jed Vitello, Noah Vitello, Liam Vitello and Brooks John Rayner; and his sister Patsy Neely Gardner. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM and on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM.
