With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leta Grimes of Portales, New Mexico, who passed away on February 14, 2026 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her siblings, Dalton Seaberry, Stella Lamb and Cleta Looney; and her daughter Ludell Heflin. She is survived by: her children, Kenny Simuel Grimes of Moffit, CO and Debbie Grimes (Joe Ham) of Portales; her son-in-law Danny Heflin of Portales; and her children, James Nixon of Bertram, TX, Joe Eddy Nixon of Portales, Nisey Nixon of Portales and Kaila Nixon of Portales. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
