With solemn reverence, we commemorate Maria Herrera of Portales, New Mexico, whose life came to an end on October 18, 2025 at the age of 81, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Eloy Torrez; her sisters, Dolores Torrez-Davies (Ray Davies), Manuelita Torrez-Porter, Becky Torrez-Eger and Cecilia Maria Torrez (Fermín Trujillo) of Roswell, NM; and her siblings-in-law, Irene Richardson, Pauline Randolph (Levoy Randolph), Stella Herrera, Delfinia Herrera and Richard Herrera.
She is survived by: her mother Savina Salcido Torrez; her husband Felix Herrera; her children, David Herrera of Las Cruces and Carla Herrera (Antonio Sánchez-Guitián) of Madrid, Spain; her grandchildren, David Sánchez-Herrera and Jennifer Leyva (Lalo); her great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Jacklyn and Josiah Leyva; her siblings, Virginia Torrez-Mathiasen (Gale Mathiasen) of Albuquerque, NM, Jennie Torrez-Ortiz (Tony Ortiz) of Roswell, NM, Martha Torrez-Polaco (Simon Polaco) of Roswell, NM, Eloy Torrez (Sheila Turner Torrez) of Huntsville, AL and Presiliano Torrez (Monica Gonzalez Torrez) of Albuquerque, NM; and her siblings-in-law, Beatrice Morales, Dorothy Gomez (Luis Gomez) of Roswell, NM, Ramona Cramer (Carlos Cramer), Patricia Lucero and Alvino Herrera (Nancy Herrera) of Roswell, NM. She is also survived by 43 nieces and nephews, 96 great- and great-great-nieces and nephews, 8 godchildren, and many beloved friends.
A rosary was held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 6:00 PM and on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM.
