As Onzle Duane departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Onzle Duane. Though Onzle Duane may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Onzle August Lee and Nora Frances Borden (Babe); his brother Tommy Dan Lee; and his son Lester Steven Lee. He is survived by: his wife Dorotha Faye Tivis (Dottie); his sons, Alan Lee of Portales, Doug Lee (Sharon) of Elida and Heath Lee (Lisa Lee) of Fort Sumner; and his siblings, Eddie Lee (Janice) of Floyd and Betty Wiggs (Wilby) of Portales. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel (500 E 3rd St, Portales, NM 88130).
