He was predeceased by: his siblings, Isaac, Elfigo, Philandro, Jerry Montano, Patricia "Pat" Jaquez and Adelina Baca.

He is survived by: his wife Sylvia; his children, Armando Montano of Portales, Monica Montano (Rebecca Sanchez) of Albuquerque and Dorie Anderson (Cass) of Portales; his grandchildren, Kayleigh Goldsborough (Gabriel), Lindsey Montano, Megan Montano, Mia Anderson, Joelle Anderson and Elvis Sanchez; his great grandchild Jovi Garcia; and his siblings, Rudy Montano (Judy) of Portales, Lucia Cansino of Lubbock and Rosa Carter of Portales.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial donations to LaCasa Family Health Center to be used for indigent patient services.
