Steve Robert Gephart Obituary

It is with deep sorrow we mourn the passing of Steve Robert Gephart . Steve began his journey home on December 12, 2017. Leaving behind his wife Dani Sue Roedel Gephart of the home. Steve had three sons Robert Weldon Farris of Clovis New Mexico Kim K. Ludlow of Bocachita Oklahoma and Brandon Farris of Lubbock Texas two daughters Tami Lin Ludlow Davis of Quitaque Texas and Tania Lin Ludlow Lindsey Oakridge Oregon. Thirteen grandchildren, Dancee Shanygne Gephart of Portales New Mexico, Joshlin Taylor Reed of Durant Oklahoma , Miicah Elizabeth Abarca of Oakridge Oregon and Daniel Ray Lindsey also of Oakridge. Eli Kameron Ludlow, of Nueces canyon Texas Alli Kay Ludlow of Massachusetts Bra-dan Ludlow, Jesse Ludlow, of Texas Emma Lane Ludlow, and Alyssa Ludlow of Oklahoma William Farris, Ella Farris, Ariel Luna Farris of New Mexico and Brandon Farris 2nd of Lubbock Texas, great grandchildren Louis Scott Valdez, Deklyn Jeremiah Valdez, Alba Jo Stone & Oliver Reed Stone .
Steve”s Father Dick Gephart one brother, Rick Gephart and his step father William (Bill) Wade proceeded him in death. They came to rest in Arizona and Bills resting place is in Texas. His mom Barbara Grace Wade of Texas two sisters Susanna Gephart of Texas one older sister Barbie of Pennsylvania one step brother Billy Wade three nephews Richard East, Wesley East Tyler east and one niece. Chelsey Sparks of Texas. Two great nieces and two great nephews. Along with a host of friends. Steve was a son, a husband, a brother an uncle, a papa, a Great Dragon, a dad and a Boss, Tami called him by that dad wasn’t often said but he was a big part of her life in positive reflection most times.
Steve enjoyed teaching his greats how to fly kites and working on property with his oldest grand daughter. Building porches, breaking bits, both teaching the other boundaries and space.. acceptance tolerance and the meaning of family. As well as respect not only for each other but the world. around them.. Dancee was Steve’s little girl and he sheltered her best by the things he didn’t say and the life she did not see.. he loved her very much... He was Dancee’s father for the biggest portion of her life.
Before Steve started to fall ill he enjoyed working on the home , remodeling laying concrete and woodwork throughout. Weekly he spoiled her with flowers to make up for the times his work kept him late. Dani Sue was not just his wife but his best friend. Steve’s hobbies were , welding, some mechanizing, tinkering for the grands, but mainly teaching them all the things mommas don’t care for her children to know including but not limited to biting their sibling for a dollor in pay.
He enjoyed deep sea diving from a youth of the Gulf of Mexico with his dad and brother and occasionally Jaqu Custo. Steve was a prankster and it showed throughout his life.. was proceeded in death by his father Bob Gephart and older brother Rick Gephart both of Arizona and his step father Bill Wade of Texas.
Steve was employed by ENMU physical plant, Warner Trucking, Crozier Trucking, and Goolsby Trucking, Dairy Farmers of America and attended college at Clovis Community College Clovis NM for a degree in computer electronics through Cisco systems.
Steve’s hobbies were welding, clay pideon shooting, reading, helping his wife with remodeling and maintenance on their home and working on small projects with friends
but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. Steve was always eager to help anyone who was in need. Steve has a kind soul and much love and compassion for those around him. Especially his mother and wife.
Steve is missed and will continue to be missed by all who knew him. “Until we meet again, may God hold you in his hand.”
