He was predeceased by : his parents, John C. Rivera and Mary Theresa Garcia; his brother Levi; his wife Jean Hughes of Honeyville, Utah.; and his sisters, Patricia Yardley and Susie Apodoca.

He is survived by : his sister Mary Lou Quakenbush; his children, Tammy Foley, Toni Rivera and Jeff Rivera; and his grandchildren, Amber Ashford, Melisa Christensen, Chris, Ryan Foley, Alex Rivera, Justin and Tabitha Huntley.
