He was predeceased by: his son Gerald Garcia; his mother Tomasita Garcia; and his siblings, Ray Garcia (Junior) and Mary Elza Griego (Hita). He is survived by: his children, Deborah Lucas, Darlene Taliaferro, James Garcia and Andrew Garcia; his grandchildren, Christina, Brandon, Ashley, Angelina, Falisha, Natasha, Drew, Rhiannon and Dylan; his great grandchildren, Cristian, Lilliana, Zabri and Apollo; and his siblings, Emerlinda Lewis, Mary Ellen Montoya (Nella), Ernie Montoya, Priscilla Knotts, Tom Garcia and Don Griego. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Thomas Aquones Catholic Church (1502 Sara Rd, Rio Rancho, NM 87124). A rosary will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (1502 Sara Rd, Rio Rancho, NM 87124). A Mass will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Thomas Aquones Catholic Church (1502 Sara Rd, Rio Rancho, NM 87124). The military honors will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery (501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM 87501).
