He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Louis and Edna Overton Matheny; his siblings, Orville and Pauline; and his granddaughter Alison.
He is survived by: his sons, Paul Matheny (Debbie) of Arvada, CO and Bill Matheny of Albuquerque, NM; his stepsons, Brian Wilson of Houston, TX and Kevin Wilson of Albuquerque, NM; his grandchildren, Jessica, Matthew, Lauren, Logan, Kelsey and Crystal; and his siblings, Delroy Matheny of Mesa, AZ. and Shirley Brunsdale of Mesa, AZ.. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
In honor of Marvin's life and legacy, contributions may be made to Joy Junction, Albuquerque (joyjunction.org), an agency serving homeless families, where he donated hundreds of his wood-crafted toys.
