He was predeceased by: his parents, Eloy Ortega and Oralia Ortega; his sister Anna Mae Marrujo; his brother-in-law Charlie Marrujo; his brother Robert Ortega; his siblings-in-law, Elouise Ortega and Ramon Martinez; his parents-in-law, Pete and Josephine Montoya; and his siblings-in-law, Virgie Romero and Jerry Montoya.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Ortega; his children, Danny Ortega Jr., Jeff Ortega and Vanessa Ortega (Donta); his granddaughters, Danielle, Viviana and Gabriella Estrada; his son-in-law Gabe Estrada; his siblings, Eloy Ortega Jr., Fred Ortega (Vera), Ernest Ortega (Lorena), Andy Ortega (Lydia) and Theresa Martinez; his siblings-in-law, Jessie Carabajal (Chris), Debbie Moore (Trent), Pete Montoya (Diane), Frank Montoya (Jessica), Andrew Brady and Faustino Jaramillo; and his friends, Andrew Brady, Faustino Jaramillo, Fermin Velasquez, Floyd Cobos, Rudy Ortega and Chuy Esparza. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
