He was predeceased by: his father Jesus Chavez; his grandparents, Julian, Herminia Oropesa, Refugio and Manuela Chavez; his aunts and uncles, Cruz Oropesa, Toribio Oropesa, Mary Villa and Corrine Oropesa; and his cousin Christina Chavez.
He is survived by: his mother Enedina Cano (Nancy); his father-in-law Andres Cano; his siblings, Hermelinda Ortega (Cruz Ortega), Rebecca Chavez and Jesus Chavez Jr. (Heidi Chavez); his stepsiblings, Isabel Sauceda and Andres Cano Jr.; and his siblings' children, Richard Bejarano, Jesus Chavez Jr., Joel Contreras, Josue Ortega, Josiah Chavez, Krystal Bejarano, Esperanza Duke, Mayela Chavez and Allisandra Chavez. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
