He was predeceased by: his wife Rose; and his brothers, Gilbert, Eddie, Arturo and Carlos Ornelas.
He is survived by: his sister Mary Gonzalez (Lupe Gonzalez); his sons, Christopher Ornelas (Kristian Ornelas) and John Max Ornelas Jr. (Johnny); and his granddaughters, Mercedes Ornelas and Christina Rodriguez.
Viewing will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Ballard Chapel (910 S Main St, Roswell, NM 88203). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Ballard Funeral Home (910 S Main St, Roswell, NM 88203). A rosary will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Ballard Chapel (910 S Main St, Roswell, NM 88203). A Mass will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. John's Catholic Church (506 S Lincoln Ave, Roswell, NM 88203). A burial will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the South Park Cemetery (3101 S Main St, Roswell, NM 88203). A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
