He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Willie Chavez and Corneilea Chavez; his sisters, Cecilia Garcia and Viola Kalinic of Prescott, AZ.; his wife Lucy; his stepchildren, Jerry, Carolyn, Nora and Irene; his former wife Josie; his stepchildren, Everette Bullard of Portland, OR, Debra Braley (Wesley) of Roswell, NM and George Braley (Yolanda) of Independence; his stepgrandchildren, Cassandra Braley of Roswell, NM and Dillon Braley of Sublimity, OR.; his grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew and Rueben; and also, Leo Chavez and Jake Chavez of El Paso, TX.

“Our hearts were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our dear brother who we lovingly called uncle willie. Willie and my dad were close friends and blessed to minister together in the 60's and early 70's at the spanish church on mulberry & buena vista. We have fond memories of our season in roswell.
