He was predeceased by: his son Wilson Lee; his father Howard Harwood; his stepfather Thomas Smith; his mother Letha Haynie; and his brother Howard Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Vickie Smith; his children, Dr. Lane Smith and Dr. Lynn Garza; his stepsons, Michael and TJ Ward; and his siblings, Michael, Amy, Tammy Smith and AJ Harwood.
