He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben Smith and Eileen Smith; and his brothers, Jude Smith, R. J. Smith, Patrick Smith and David Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Smith; his children, Beth Gardner, Sandi Molyneaux, Pam Bayes of Clovis, NM, Patty Kilgore (Pat) of Cache, OK and Jesse Smith (Christy) of Rocky Ford, CO.; and his siblings, Noreen Henderson (Jack) of Tucumcari, NM, Mary Ann Dominguez (Ernie) of Tucumcari, NM and John Smith (Connie) of Lubbock, TX.
