He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Montoya and Isabelita Montoya; his wife Mary Montoya; his grandson Tommy Montoya; his children-in-law, Richard Lopez and Patricia Montoya; his siblings, Jose Manuel, Lee, Tony, Herman Montoya and Rita Romero; and his parents-in-law, Manuel and Rumaldita Velarde.
He is survived by: his children, Cathy Lopez, Gilbert Montoya (Grace), Danny Montoya (Lloyda) and Louie Montoya; his grandchildren, Victoria Lucero (James), Vincent, Christopher Lopez, Joseph Montoya, Andrew Montoya (Jennifer) and Louie Montoya Jr.; his great grandchildren, Joanna, Josie, Xavier and Avina Montoya; and his sister-in-law Rita Lopez. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
