He was predeceased by: his wife Gualupita Rivera; and his siblings, Joe, Fred Rivera and Clovia Segura. He is survived by: his children, Judy Rivera, Juarez (Carlos) and James Rivera Jr. (Roberta); his grandchildren, Jasmin, Santiago and Sevastían; and his siblings, Roy, Lisandro, Bernie Rivera, Mary Ann Arthur and Virginia Ortiz. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
