He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Smith and Helen Smith (Vermes); and his brother Tom. He is survived by: his wife Melitta Cutright; his daughter Elisabeth Cutright-Smith (Justin Mapula); his granddaughter Lyla Mapula; his sister Kathy Smith Hocking (A. J.); his sister-in-law Jo Cutright; and his nephew Scott Huber.
