Burman (Santa Fe, New Mexico), born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on October 11, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry L. Burman and Florence Burman; his son Niels (Jana); and his brother Marshall (Susan). He is survived by: his close friend Rachel Belash; his sons, Eric Burman (Erica) of Washington, DC and Peter Burman (Alona) of Toronto, Canada; his grandchildren, Eugene, Christopher (Nicole), Abigail, Lydia, Moshe Zvi and Sara Devorah; his great grandchildren, Saul, Niels and Hava; his brother Harold (Sally); his nieces, Jenny, Jamie and Julie; his nephew Adlai; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Eve, Claire, Guy and Grace; Emma, Zoe, Helena, Leo, Eliza, Addie and Ivor.
He was inducted as an American Physical Society Fellow in 1977, in recognition of his contribution to the advancement of physics, and as a LANL Fellow in 1981, in recognition of sustained outstanding contributions and exceptional promise for continued professional achievement.
