We announce the death of Virginia M. Gorman (Santa Fe, New Mexico), born in Taos, New Mexico, who passed away on July 25, 2026, at the age of 95. Virginia will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her mother Lillie Miera; her husband Robert D. Gorman; her son Richard; her father José Leandro Montoya; her stepfather Lino Miera; her brother Ernesto Leandro Montoya; her sister-in-law Molly; and her mother-in-law Magdalena Gorman (Eleanor Quintana).
She is survived by: her extended family Selph; her children, Robert Gorman, Jr. (Cathy), Peggy Martínez (Larry), Gina Arsenault (Jon), James Gorman (Paula) and Don Gorman (Suzanne); her daughter-in-law Shea Gorman (Joseph Gorman); her grandchildren, Felecia Gorman, Christopher Gorman and Ryan Gorman (Meghan); her great grandchildren, Charles Gorman and Max Gorman (Ryan); her stepdaughters, Sarah Gorman, Lillian Gorman (Baltazar) and Stephanie Gorman (Brock); her great grandchild Leroy Gorman Frost (Stephanie); her grandchildren, Lawrence Alexander Martínez and Rachel Martínez Powers (Andrew); her great grandchildren, Michael Martínez-Powers, Simon Martínez-Powers and Benjamin Martínez-Powers (Rachel); her granddaughter Nicole Shephard (Zach); and her caregivers, Dolores García, Viola Gonzales, Sandra Gonzales and Alfredo García. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, Virginia requested donation of non-perishable food or cash contributions to the Meals for the Homeless/Soup Kitchen, at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 417 Agua Fria St., Santa Fe, NM 87501.
