With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dolores Chavez of Santa Rosa, New Mexico, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 11, 2025 at the age of 80. She was predeceased by: her parents, Patroncinio Sotelo and Anita Sanchez; her husband Jose I. Chavez; her adoptive parents, Antonio Madrid and Utimia Madrid; her stepmother Geronimo Sotelo; her siblings, Pat Sotelo, Gilbert Sotelo, Lawrence Sotelo, Benito Sotelo and Carlota Sotelo; her stepbrother Isaac Maldonado; and her sister-in-law Pamela Sotelo.
She is survived by: her siblings, Ponciano Sotelo and Cecelia Renteria; and her sisters-in-law, Theresa Sotelo and Barbara Maldonado.
