We are sad to announce that, on January 31, 2022, Anita L Murphy (Taos, New Mexico) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Freddie Husser and Artemis Husser (Schilling); her sister Melida Brick (Ron); her daughter Nancy German (Kevin); and her grandson Ben German (Jocelyn).

Nita supported the Taos Animal Shelter and would appreciate donations in her memory.

“Judith and I are sad that we and her family and other friends can no longer enjoy Nita's company. We were classmates at Southeastern Louisiana College (now University) and kept up our friendship through her years in Taos. During our last visit Nita joined us for dinner at Lambert's. With no travel during the pandemic, we were in touch by mail and email. She was accomplished with her book on Millicent Rogers and her essay in Taos: A Topical History among other achievements with the Taos museums.”
