Wendy Pate wrote a sympathy message

“Prof. Jurkat was one in a million! He was a true asset to the Stevens online adjunct professor pool. His student loved him and his courses. He was always pleasant and I never heard him speak a harsh word about any student, colleague, or administrative personnel. I will personally miss him dearly!”
