He was predeceased by: his parents, Silviano Serna and Eva Serna; his sister Adella Graham; and his sibling's children, Kathy, Betty, James, Willie and Joe Sr..
He is survived by: his significant other Emma Cordova; his daughter Veneza Wells; his grandson Donald Wells Jr.; and his children, Sylvia Serna (Kristina Benavidez), Irene, Darlene, Louise, Annette, Mark and Steven. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one uncle, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
