He was predeceased by : his parents, Jose B. Valverde and Maria Valverde (Pacheco); his wife Carolyn Valverde; and his son John Richard Valverde. He is survived by : his daughters, Angel Greigo (Don) of Amarillo, TX and Deborah Donahue (Mark); his siblings, Mele Armijo and Andrew Valverde of Tucumcari, NM; and his grandchildren, Misty Smith (Todd), Paul Valverde, Ronnie Ashbaugh (Amanda), Francine Valverde, Joshua Valverde (Andreya) and Marissa Montano (Aldofo). He is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren.

“You'll be missed Uncle Juan. So many of my best childhood memories were with you & Auntie Carol. You always listened, never judged & were the coolest Tio around. I only wish I'd have known sooner so I could have said goodbye. I pray now you're at peace, reunited in Heaven with Auntie Carol & Rick. Tell them, my Mom & brother I love & miss them all. I pray we are all reunited in Heaven some day, family again the way it was always meant to be. Forever missed, always loved, never forgotten.”
