He was predeceased by: his wife Sue Tindell; his parents, Ira Lee and Thelma Tindell; and his sisters, Edith Newsom and Gloria Goodson.
He is survived by: his children, Stephen Tindell (Belinda) and Teresa Dodson (Michael); his brothers, Mason, Raymond (Robbin) and Rusty Tindell (Judy); his siblings-in-law, Cecil Fryrear (Dee Dee) and Donna Giddens (Bobby); his grandchildren, Trevor Guy (Stacy), Tia Van Ryn (Jeremy) and Kristan Brinkley (Michael); his great grandchildren, Trey, Tripp Guy, Legend Van Ryn, Madelyn and Bobby Brinkley; and his pet Cowboy Bud. He is also survived by many friends; cousins; nephews; and nieces.
