“Dear Merla, I am so sorry to hear the news about Bob's passing. He and I were both classmates at St Olaf College (51) and also classmates in the USAF pilot training program (52G). I was born on 25 Feb 1929 so we were quite close in age. I have to say that I regard Bob as one of the finest men that I have ever met and you were so lucky to spend all those years together. I know that when you remember those years you will have lots of smiles to accompany the tears. In sympathy, Bill Amundson”
