Cora Cowan Obituary

With sadness, we share the passing of Cora Cowan of Carson City, Nevada. Cora, born on February 17, 1932 in Natchez, Mississippi, passed away on September 19, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Cora for her warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Walton's Chapel of the Valley (1281 N Roop St, Carson City, NV 89706). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Lone Mountain Cemetery (1044 Beverly Dr, Carson City, NV 89706). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (200 N Division St, Carson City, NV 89703).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Educators Foundation (DKGIEF) or the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.), honoring Cora's lifelong commitment to education.
