Evelyn leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Evelyn’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Evelyn will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, J. Albin Johnson and Lila M. Johnson; and her husband Vernon Johnson. She is survived by: her daughters, Sonja Hoppe (Steven Hoppe), Heidi Johnson and Sheri Johnson (Tony Peltz); her granddaughters, Genevieve Johnson and Jillian Johnson; and her brother Duane Johnson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (104 East St, Essex, IA 51638).
